Woman

Woman, if your ideas are on the rise
Don't be surprised, they will call you
All kinds of names on prime time

Woman for pursuing and defending your human rights,
Defying the status quo,
And denouncing corporate lies
They will pass laws to gag you
Or invent surgeries to mime you
They will beat you into compliance
In the name of science
Then they will kiss your bruises
Swearing he only abuses
Because you done something wrong
In the name of love ,
For reasons of  national security
To protect us all

Woman it's been 100 and 1 years of recognizing
March 8th as the worldwide day on which the patriarch
Showers you with cheap brain candy,
Hangs a murdered animal around your neck
Silences your heart with another shiny rock
Devalues your life
With self hating aesthetics
The terrific slaughter
Of our brown grand daughters,
Just to cleanse your soul
From the truth, like lava rising  from your throat
To protect us all
In the name of love,

Woman, if your ideas are on the rise
Don't be surprised, they'll call you a whore
On prime time.

LEAP YEAR/THE ERROR IN TIME
Read on feb 29 2012

The heart of time
Captured like an African Slave
Tortured like a prisoner in Guantanamo Bay
Breaks and bleeds
Wails and pleads
Gaged inside the laboratories
Of scientific thought,
Raped inside the secret chambers
Of the vatican
Ritually devoured
On the golden tables
Of the vampire
Like children
In the land of Molech
At this very moment

The Heart of Time

Consumed before sunrise
Before the pitiful sight
Of our ignorance
Our drugged bodies
Partaking like cannibals,
Our mutant minds
Rewarded with pills
Turn on the stove
Just for the thrill
Of producing
From this horrific crime
A most flavorful dish
And a sense of pride

Simmered and spiced
Packaged and served
Shoved down your throat
With a spoonful of sugar
With Shakesperan english
And Disney songs
With Biblical barbarity
With Cartesian metaphors

The heart of time
Is the caged bird who sings the blues
The immigrant running with no shoes
A fugitive in the toxic landscape
Of patriarchal culture
Its murders of crows
And its planet of vultures
The house of christ, the house of fear,
The house of whoredom
Their gruesome priests
Who descended on our land
In their 16th century,
Stole everything we had
Beginning with
The heart of time

Breaking and bleeding
Wailing a pleading
somewhere inside

Those impressive imperial palaces,
Those corporate courts,
Those prestigious universities,
Their policies, their wars
Their necrophilic philosophy
Their hatred, their stupidity
That thing which brings us all here
And makes us leap like frogs
Inside the melting pot
Where we are all merrily skipping
To an absurd notion
Against the very emotion
Of the Jurakan
Under clouds of aluminum
We eat and we shit and we think that we think
We sleep and die never knowing who we are
Completely occupied,
Conveniently plugged in,
Like all the little animals
Inhabiting the slave farm
Singing songs of freedom
But always behind bars.

I met a woman who worships
The most fearsome saint
La santisima muerte, the goddess of death
No thing more powerful
She says pointing out
That fools are those who call
The passing of time, one more day of life.

She built herself a clock
That waves its hands goodbye
From 12 to 11, to 10, to 9
From life to death always
In funerary processions
Cada momento que pasa
One day less
Another moment extinguished,
Consumed, sacrificed
And the heart of time
Somewhere inside
Begging the question was it worth while?
How did you burn your precious time?
In the name of what?
You the colonized indian
You the pilgrim of death
You the daughters of genocide
As we gather to celebrate
Our God father Gregory the Great
Long live the Padre
For allowing us to forget
Who we must be
Inside this web, beneath this veil
Woven with radioactive threats,
With depleted plutonium,
And lack of regret
With an extra day in February
And a filthy pound of misery.

I ask that you look sincerely
Inside the sacred cavity
De este palpitar
The truth of time
Speaks in ethnic tongues
Rujux Kan
Ihuikapozintli
Grandeza del Nawal
Gran Ajaw Kat
Tu nombre real
Tu esencia natural
I am calling you back
Even in error
This is my heart
Jugando a los desencantados
Desenredando los destinos
Consolando a los fracasados
Pidiendo perdon y pidiendo permiso
Pa machetear las mazorcas del fanatismo,
Las flores plasticas del machismo
Para tender mi red
Contra los enemigos ocultos
Y soltar todos estos bultos
La larga noche de ayer
Pidiendo perdon y pidiendo permiso
Calling on the Heart Time
The heart of space dignified
All that is inside
All that is outside
What is near and what is far
Come and hear me out
Corazon del tiempo
Alivia nuestro tormento
Nuestras ganas de escapar

Ixpiyakok, Ixmuq'anek
Grandmother of dawn
Touch us with a ray of grace
So that we may find ourselves
On the side of the brave
When it all comes down.
In the mean time mi gente
Don't believe the hype
Take all you hear with a grain of salt
With a handful of calm
Watch your back en todos los cruces
And forgive the frivolous
y sus 2 mil dulces.

Miss Cook In The Air

Miss Cook in the Air
for Pat Parker
Feb, 2012

Dear Miss Cook,
Even though I never
Heard you speak
Back in the day
When your body of clay
Danced among
The living dead

When you loved here
When you wept here...

I happen to show up for
Your Birthday every year!
Your purple seeds dispersed
Beyond the Bay
Have found fertile ground in my heart
And this is the first time i dare say
How i appreciate your balls!

Dear miss
Forgive me for
Approaching
You like this
Once removed
From the veil of time

La luz de esta candela para ti!
The spirit of green Earth para ti!

Mujer  nobleza
Mujer libre, Mujer negra
Mujer who saw more pain than eyes can bare,
Who never conformed, who never surrendered

Mujer you were a dove tail deer,
An azabache stallion
Sweeping like a woman
The natural pathways
For the rising spirit
Mujer who left testimony,
Who endowed us with legacy!

How I would love to say
Mira, how things have changed,
How I would love to report,
Now that i dare your spirit invoke
That we are better off than before
That the business of killing women
Is no more....

"But the southern fence bears
An even stranger sight
Dismembered human bodies
Multiplying on both sides
Thousands and thousands of
Migrants funneled through the deserts left to die
The pears rotting in the orchards this year
No hummingbirds arrived...."

Miss Cook  some times, you know
The strongest ones
Are fragile like obsidian stones
And die young, full of life, and purpose...

While the rest of us  keep
Living like death
Keep birthing our sickly children
Who resent us for destroying
With mindless procedures
And psychopathic logic
All that was good to eat,
Feel and think.

Elder Sister
Kayumari
Venada del sol
Now that you are in the air
Oh, how I want to say
even if ignorance stands in the way
Que aqui estamos
Que esta es nuestra palabra
Ixpiyakock, Ixmucane,
Abuela del Sol y de la Aurora
Miranos, oyenos
Oyenos, miranos
Aqui estamos
Nosotros the ones remaining
The faun,  the salmon, the tortoise,
The eagle, the bear,
The ants and the bees,
The raven, the hare
Nosotros
The unseen creatures
Of the sacrificial mountain
In the timeless ritual
Of re-membering
Your wholeness
With great reverence
Aqui estamos, once again
Bringing together the
One thousand bones
Of our Coyolxauki
Estos somos nosotros
Each of us in the sweet labor
Of gathering
Your bones and teeth
Scattered around
Hidden under the buildings
Carefully forgotten
Buried under the concepts
Of god and country
Temple and hospital
Family and economy...

Estos somos nosotros
From the four corners of the globe
From all the dimensions
From the ghettos of imperial thought
From the memory of rape,
Your sister's femicide
From all that seemed
Impossible in your day
Bringing you back together
Again

Dearest Miss
Now that you are in the air
As guardian of the forests
Come and feast
On this ofrenda de spoken flores
The word of your daughters and grand daughters
Embodying your longing
Your dreams of dancing
Simply for the glory de tu Corazon sereno
Laughing with the joy of a waking volcano
At the complete acceptance of your nature
Your song, your cosmic identity
Your spiritual responsibility

Con la luz de esta candela,
Your sexuality celebrated!
With the fire of this rum
Your blackness celebrated!
With the gold of this yellow rose
Your motherhood celebrated!
With the eloquence of words
Your artistry celebrated!

Rukux, kaj, rukux, ulew, rukux iq, rukux poloj
Tus cuatro patas de gacela
Keep the heavens in place, don't you know?
Your ability to leap beyond this world
Recharging the home of destiny
With the drive of realization allow
With the completion
Of the work of love...
It feels like hunger satisfied,
The soft breeze of your presence
Allow me to thank you
In 4 tongues,
Sun, Earth, Water, Time,
The 4  caminos of redemption,
Matiux, Tlazokamati
Gracias, thank you
For creating this beautiful occasion,
This room full of bad ass artists
Singing your praises
So that you may never be forgotten

May your courage blossom in our arteries
In our ovaries

Gran  abuela Pat Parker palpitating in the air

Can you help us from where you are?
So that we can finally put together all of our scattered parts?
So that we can go places complete and not dismembered?
So that we are no longer  manipulated,
So that we stop ourselves from betraying

Can you help us from where you are?
To set each other free
From the enemies of womankind?
So that we may  cure the cancer
Of arrogance and infamy?
And wipe away the parasites
From the human family?

Gran Abuela
May your beauty blossom in our gestures
Your courage in our actions
Your freedom in the air
Corazon de gacela
Cara limpia de la luna llena.
Here I bring you
My honest pain
My song for a generation
Living and dying in chains

Golden Cages

If life is a dream
then I must still be seating by the edge of my bed
dreaming that I stand alone under the rain
if life is a dream, then i must still be standing
by my window on Folsom Street
just watching life pass me by
thinking...

the day looks just fine from here
it even seems unusually clear
there are no people on the street
is mid morning
and everybody is busy
chasing a dream
struggling to make the rent
stressing to find the secret of success
satisfied with having a thousand face book friends...
denying that we are so alone
severed from the very source of life
we are too alone
in our designated spaces
and we are drowning in our plastic bags
we poison the air that we breathe
we move feces with the water that we'll drink
we criminalize the hand that feeds us and
we find it fun to kill

from here we watch the world falling apart all around us
from behind the comfort of our coffee cups
and we hail the revolutions that we long to be a part of
but we don't dare leave the couch
our pretty leash, our dogie treats
our fantasies and our addictions if you please
our consuming habits and our ancestral guilt

we are so alone behind our public faces
projecting the ideal image of ourselves
we are too damn lonely behind our educated trenches
defending and preserving philosophies that have already failed
the economy of extraction,
world wide degradation and mass distraction
bowing to the patriot and his deadly masquerade.

but even though there is blood in our hands
even though all this horror in our name
oh, how we long to forgive ourselves
and to be humble enough to as for forgiveness
to all the people whose skin is the color of the earth
please forgive us
Palestine, Afghanistan, Pakistan
Iraq, Korea, Mexico, Colombia Japan,
Please forgive us
Somalia, Libia, Zimbabwe
Guatemala, Nicaragua, Chile, El Salvador,
please forgive us
for this terrible legacy, this manifest destiny,
Please forgive us
because we long to forgive ourselves
tonight.

Alimentando abonados
En el ocaso de la labor.

Mi tata canta:
“Frijolitos pintos, claveles dorados…
Saca la punta de su pene
Por un hoyito del pantalón
Agárralo, me ordena

Canta tesoro

Mi sangre

Mi sangre es el susto del mes
La sustancia prohibida
La tumba donde yace
Despedazada
La diosa de los coyoles

Caigo

Me arrastro, me fricciono
Contra la tierra calcinada
De mi asombro
Caigo
Me convulsiono
Crezco cola de iguana
Orgasmo agonía
Tiemblo, gimo,
Me sacudo
Hasta alcanzarme
La otra punta
Morderla, chuparla.
¿De quien son esos ojos
Que me penetran
Desde abajo del agua?
Me pica, me arde,
Quisiera evaporarme,
Devorar mis dedos, mis desechos,
Tragarme mi propia presencia
Hasta volver a alcanzarme.
Caigo
Y me descubro interminable.

Old Man
Carro de fuego
Viejo caballo rojo
Padre de todos

La Guerra de ser Gacela

Atrapada en la feroz estampida
De ser gacela
Encarno terror
Les broto alas a mis cuatro patas
Y salto
Por encima de la muerte
Enterita

Estamos tan ciegas,

Tan lejos de la justicia.

C o y o l x a u h q u i
Coyolxauhqui, quiero verte
Danzando sobre la muerte

Coyolxauhqui, quiero verte
Sacando la lengua entera
Sacudiendo tu coyol
Tu sudor, y tu machete

Coyolxauhqui, quiero verte
Danzando sobre la muerte.

Coyolhxauqui quiero verte
Alardeando de tu sexo
El amor de tu madre
Lo imperturbable en ti

Coyolxauhqui, quiero verte

Me reconozco sola
Y me quedo quieta
Lubricando fantasías del pasado
La noche me derrumba
El sabor vivo de tus besos
Que no tengo
Que me hacen tanta falta.
Me arrepiento, me torturo, me rasco,
Tus dientes, mi gozo, tu rezo, mi voz
Tu leche, mi sangre.

Entre tus fauces
Soy venada insaciable
Inmaculada

Espalda

Me Falta
Me falta el Blues
Sin esperanza
De la mujer sin casa
El blues sin dientes
De la que empuja el carrito
Y se ahoga en sus gritos
Y se bebe su limosna a traguitos.

Alumbrando tu rostro

Y Rezo
Santa Madre del Mole
Que bates y sazonas
El sabor de estar juntas
Las manos, las canas,
La risa,  la fuerza,
Las hijas.

Mujerío a fuego lento
En el vientre de la olla
Amor con chilito y cebolla
Humanidad y sustento.
Tierna
-Eres una tierna mama.
-¿Ah si?  ¿Tierna como un chicharito?
- No.
Tierna como una cortada,
Tierna como una florecita de arriba,
Tierna como unos ojos grandes.

Anoche llovió Mayo.
La bruma amaneciendo
Me susurro secretos
Y fui semilla, Ave,
Suspiro de viento arbolado,
Recién exhalado de todo lo que es.

Anoche llovió mayo y me soñó niebla
En la boca cerrada del verbo

En ese momento, a punto de cantar.

Una brisa de mar
Se lleva la sal de mis aguas,
Me deja vacía
 Sin ella
 Sin mí

Mi cuerpo de arena se desmorona
El soplo que soy reinventa sus alas.
